Situated on a historical farm, Ashanti consists of 165 hectares. Ashanti was known as Langedoc until 1997 when the owners at the time built the cellar amongst the slopes of the Drakenstein mountains.Ashanti’s fertile rolling slopes, as well as its favourable position below the high mountains enabled the estate to produce unique top quality red wines.

Traditional South African varietals included: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz. The wines produced since 1997 from the vineyards on Ashanti received various awards some of them being Bronze & Silver Veritas awards as well as Silver & Gold for the Michelangelo International Wine awards.
